What You Need To Know In 5 Minutes

Whether you live alone or in a full house, your daily dish- washing task can be all to monotonous. But, with the right dishwasher, you can cut your clean-up time in half.

There are many different features you can choose from when deciding on the right dishwasher, but a few of these are absolutely necessary. For example, with the high price of fossil fuels, an energy-efficient dishwasher should be a must lest your new machine be too expensive to operate.

Second is the need for steel rotator arms. These arms are located at the bottom of the dishwasher and rotate while spraying water. Steel arms are by far the most durable and feature larger water holes which makes them both efficient and effective. When you shop for your new dishwasher, be sure to purchase only steel-armed machines.

Finally, the desire to find low-decibel dishwashers is on the rise. More and more people seem to find this feature a top priority in choosing the right dishwasher - especially considering the popularity of the kitchen as the hub of the house. For this reason, we have chosen only models that have a proven record of quiet operation.

There are also plenty of features that one may choose to purchase that won't necessarily make dishes any cleaner but can make the kitchen-cleaning process a little easier, no less. These features include capacity, drying method and touch-pad controls to name a few.

  • Drying method: Some dishwashers feature a heated coil drying method which both dries and sanitizes the dishes. Unfortunately, these designs also use considerably more energy to operate.   Others use a passive drying method and require the use of a rinse aid. Though some people may disapprove of the moisture level compared to other models, the issue can be remedied by simply opening the machine a few inches for about 30 minutes after the cycle is complete.
  • Soil Detection: With all of the different wash cycle options, it can be hard to know which one is best in any given situation. But with soil-sensing technology, your dishwasher can tell, based on the amount of food debris left after a rinse cycle - if more washing is necessary.
  • Delayed Start: There are a few good reasons the Delayed Start feature is handy. The first is the ability to hold off on running the load until a more opportune time - after everyone's had their showers, for example - and the second is the fact that you can set it to run just after bed-time but still be able to load it until then.

You have the choice between fully-integrated and semi-integrated dish washing units. Fully-integrated dishwashers blend completely into your cabinetry while semi-integrated models show the machine's controls.

Your new dishwasher should last between nine and 12 years, so choose the right one carefully. Make sure that it will fit in your kitchen, that it will wash and rinse your dishes effectively and that will wash all of your most common dishes.

Some of the highest-quality dishwashers for the price include Maytag, Frigidaire and Amana. These brands continue to provide top-quality products that last. We've included these brands in our search.

Samsung seems to have a bad reputation when it comes to dishwashers so it is advised you stay away from them.

You've got enough to do with your time not to be spending it in front of your kitchen sink washing dishes. Purchase a new dishwasher for your home and get on with life.
