What You Need To Know In 5 Minutes

Whether showers are used for a quick clean-up or a relaxing lather, having the right shower head is crucial. Many offer spa-like features including various massage functions and detachable heads while others simply provide a basic spray just to get the job done.  If you are in the market for a new shower head, there are a few things you will need to consider first. For example, would you rather have a powerful shower or one that conserves water? Or perhaps one that massages while conserving or one that functions quieter and still performs the way you want it too.

The best shower heads will offer multiple spray functions letting you choose between a gentle rain shower and an on-target massager. They will be easy to install and environmentally conscious and most importantly, they should be durable. While many come with extended warranties, many others are simply build to withstand the test of time. That's why, when choosing your next shower head, it is important to look past all of the bells and whistles and focus instead on what really matters: a happy, comfortable family who uses an environmentally-friendly shower head.

Popular on the market today are shower heads featuring colorful LED lights and smooth finishes. While these features may be aesthetically pleasing, they do not necessarily make for a quality shower head. If you want the best shower head for your money, then it may be best to overlook these features. The smooth designs do not help increase longevity of the piece and the colorful lights do not increase visibility, which means that paying extra for these features is like sending money down the drain.

A smooth chrome or brass finish may go perfect in your bathroom, but will not help lengthen the lifespan of your shower head. This is because most of the wear that happens in shower heads occurs internally where mineral deposited make it difficult for the piece to function at top capacity. Therefore, while a flashy shower head may look great in your bathroom, a shiny or sleek design does not never rly represent higher quality.

Another popular feature that is certainly not required but still beneficial are shower heads with water filtration features. These shower heads remove chlorine and lime deposits before as they spray which tends to vastly improve skin and hair conditions. Therefore, if your family suffers from notorious dry skin and split ends, then a shower head with a filtration function may be the best option for your home.

Water pressure is also an important feature to many, though it may not be a necessity for all. There are many ways shower heads can increase water pressure without increasing water usage. One such example, known as turbine technology, spins the water rapidly within the shower head before projecting it out. Unlike aerated models which can be noisy and tend to cool the water, turbine technology is able to increase water pressure without increasing the energy bill.

Culligan, Delta and Kohler are all popular brands that have continually been proven superior to others.

Conversely, Light in the Box brand shower heads should be avoided as their primary function is to look appealing. Their higher pricetags do not necessarily coincide with quality and should therefore not be used.

You deserve the best shower head possible, but that means a lot of different things for different people. If you simply need a quick replacement for cheaper than the competitors, then you should be able to purchase one for around $20, but it will not possess all of the features of some more expensive styles. If, on the other hand, you want to feel like stepping into a spa the next time you shower, then opting for a more advanced design featuring water filtration and massage settings for only a few dollars more.
